This is one of the shortest bible verses in the bible.
It is also, to me, one of the most mind blowing verses in the Bible.
Think about it. Jesus weeping, not just crying! Isn’t Jesus supposed to be strong and powerful?
Jesus was a man like us, but a perfect man, God come in the flesh. Like us, He loved and served God, felt compassion for suffering people, and had physical and emotional needs. But unlike us, Jesus served God in absolute obedience, expressed His compassion through perfect works, and looked only to his Father to fill his needs.
The background of this is that Jesus has just returned to the village of Bethany. His friend, Lazarus, has just died four days earlier and there was intense mourning by his burial place within the tomb he was in. Jesus stood and He heard the people cries of pain and loss, He saw the tears falling from their eyes. Jesus felt the pain around Him, and He wept….
I think this relates so society so much today. I feel like we are taught not to show our true feelings— just push them aside. Especially boys. There is also a crazy, insane thought going around that it is not ok to cry!? What! Some people have said that is not ok to cry because it is showing God doubt that we don’t trust Him. But look! Jesus Wept. If He needs to cry, maybe you and i need a good cry too.

Since I’ve came across jj’s tweet, it made me think, what am I known for? During Chrystal last week most comments I got was ‘fun’ ‘pretty’ ‘hot’ ‘sporty’… Yes I appreciate what my classmates said about me but it just made me wonder, what about what’s more important… My character? I would feel much happier and appreciated if they would say good things about my character instead and not just my looks :/
I’m really starting to think that what everyone (not just guys) cares about is appearance now which is so sucky argh ajskskdkfkfksa
